There is evidence that Elizabeth - was William Powell's 2nd wife;  his first wife (name unknown) was in fact the mother of Eliza Powell, the mother of William Powell Annear (1817-1877).  The source for this information was a handwritten note, written by Eliza Annear, seen March 1975, in the possession of Dr Doreen Annear.
