Notes for DANIEL WOODCOCK:
1. Daniel Woodcock is shown on the 1851 UK Census Returns as
"widower" indicating that Jane Horton had died before that date. He continues to appear at the same address
on the UK Census returns up to 1871 (when he is shown as aged 82). Note that the Esther Woodcock living in the
same street (next door?) is the widow of his son, also called Daniel.
2. Record of the will of Daniel Woodcock. (Effects under £600) 18 October 1873. "The will of Daniel Woodcock late of Hougham in the County
of Kent, Farmer and Blacksmith who died 2 October 1873 at Hougham was proved at
Canterbury by William Brazier and James Friend both of Hougham, Farmers, the
Executors." [Note that James
Friend was Daniel Woodcock's son-in-law, being married to his daughter Lydia.]
